Everyone reacts to stress and traumatic experiences differently. While some have reactions that can be seen as normal responses to life events, others may experience signs or symptoms of more serious conditions.
Mental health and substance misuse conditions can affect anyone;
you are not alone. The Military Health System has many resources available to help those who need it.

Targeted Care
Our mental (behavioral) health clinic offers targeted care. Targeted care helps us give you the right mental health support for your specific needs, whether it’s an individual appointment, group therapy or non-clinical support.
How it Works
Targeted care synchronizes and expands the resources we have to address your specific needs. The process begins with a preliminary assessment.

Moody AFB Mental Health Clinic Services
Our facility offers the following mental health services:
- Individual, group, and psychoeducational treatment
- Topics: stress, anxiety, depression, adjustment difficulties, and other psychological concerns
- Military evaluations for special clearances or duties
- Crisis related walk-ins are seen Monday – Friday, 7:30 a.m. – 3 p.m.
Currently, mental health services are only offered to active duty service members and National Guard and Reserve members on active duty orders. Mental Health services for dependents can be accessed through
Military OneSource, a referral from your PCM, or through another TRICARE program.
Substance Use Disorder Services
Our facility offers the following substance use services:
Alcohol and Drug Abuse Prevention and Treatment
The Air Force recognizes alcoholism as a preventable, progressive, treatable, and non-compensable disease that affects the entire family. The ADAPT Clinic provides prevention, substance abuse education, assessments, and rehabilitation for active duty service members and National Guard and Reserve members on active duty orders.
Services provided in ADAPT:

Referrals for medical detoxification and rehabilitation at local civilian hospitals

Individualized education via alcohol brief counseling sessions for non-diagnosed clients
What TRICARE Covers
TRICARE covers medically and psychologically necessary mental health and substance use care. This includes both inpatient and outpatient care.
