Public Health services at the 23d Medical Group - Moody Air Force Base supports TRICARE beneficiaries through our Force Health Management and Community Health services.
Force Health Management
Deployment Medicine
Oversees the medical clearance for all deployers before departure from Moody AFB. Members deploying must have their Unit Deployment Manager contact our office to initiate the medical clearance process. Public health also manages all post-deployment health activities. Members are required to in-process with our office prior to going on leave or R&R.
Occupational Health
Identifies medical health surveillance examination requirements for workers at risk for hazardous exposures. Additionally, we identify, investigate, mitigate, and report occupational illnesses. We serve as technical advisors to shop supervisors for planning and presenting occupational health education programs. Manages administrative aspects of the Fetal Protection program for active duty and civilian workers.
Hearing Conservation
Conduct Audiogram hearing tests for members assigned to the hearing conservation program to meet OSHA requirements for industrial workers. Contact our office to schedule your hearing test. Members experiencing hearing issues need to contact their Primary Care clinic for medical evaluation or diagnostic tests.
Travel Medicine
During the planning process for overseas travel, the Travel Medicine service is available to assist in a safe trip. Please contact us at least two weeks before departure to get scheduled for immunizations and medications.
Community Health
Communicable Disease Surveillance
Works closely with the local health department to mitigate the spread of communicable disease by providing health education to all eligible beneficiaries.
Food Protection
Inspects all food and public facilities at Moody AFB to ensure food safety and sanitation. If you have any health or sanitation complaints, contact our office.
