Specialty Care
Specialty care is advanced care you receive from a medical provider who has focused their practice on a particular field. This type of care is for diagnosis and treatment of diseases. If your primary care provider or manager isn't qualified to provide this care, they may refer you to a specialist who can.
The 23rd Medical Group - Moody Air Force Base offers the following specialty care services:
Referral Management Office
A referral from your primary care manager is required before obtaining an appointment off base so that TRICARE will not charge you for specialty care services.
If you’ve been referred to a specialist by your primary care manager at the MTF, please stop by the Referral Management Office
before leaving the clinic. One of our referral managers will provide instructions on how to access referral information and schedule an appointment. This applies to specialties that are not offered at the MTF and those that are only available in the network.
All routine network
referrals have an expiration date, so please schedule your initial appointment before the referral period ends.
Referral Management Center staff cannot renew, modify, or delete an unused, unwanted, or expired referral.
All expired referrals must be renewed by contacting your PCM. Please visit
Humana Military for more information and to view the status of your referrals.
The PCM team nurse will schedule urgent referrals.
Log into your
MHS GENESIS Patient Portal to send a message to your PCM and health care team, schedule an appointment, look up your health record, request a prescription refill, or check a lab result.
Common Access Card or DS Logon Account is required.
